WRITER GUIDELINES

Central Coast Journal welcomes submissions or queries from freelance writers. Our ideal length is 600 to 1,400 words. We do not publish poetry or fiction; however, we favor upbeat, feel-good articles concerning nostalgia, local personality profiles, subtle, not heavy-handed humor, travel, book reviews, entertainment and health.

We pay $75 for articles published under 850-word count with artwork or photos. We pay $100 for articles over the 850-word count with artwork or photos. If we approve/accept your story, we reserve the right to take our own photographs. Photos and/or artwork are very important to us as we are an all gloss, full-color publication. All photographs need to be high-resolution JPGs.
